In general, alcohol (like vodka and rum) actually doesn’t have carbs for the most part. I definitely noticed it does slow down weight loss so I try to keep cocktails to weekends or holidays. By watching how often you enjoy a cocktail such as this keto long island peach iced tea, it should be no problem. I enjoy having a keto cocktail on either Saturday or Sunday afternoons. When I go out, I love the Peach Roadhouse Sweet Tea at Logan’s. I can’t resist them. If I’m going to have a cocktail, I’d rather get my calories, sugar, and carbs from one of those than a steak and baked potato. I love them so much I thought, why not figure out how to make my own low carb version of this classic cocktail? Peach is a classic summer flavor which tastes so yummy. My version of a peach Long Island iced tea drink has all of that peach flavor but without the sugar.

Most common Long Island Iced tea recipes have lots of sweet ingredient. Same for the Peach Roadhouse Sweet Tea from Logan’s. Things like simple syrup (which is just lots of sugar dissolved in water). Or soda like cola or Sprite which have tons of sugar. Or they may call for a sweet and sour mix. This is also just a bunch of sugar with lemon juice and lime juice. And still other recipes include cola. Yes, a cola that can have up to 10 sugar packets in them. Sugar ladened brown fizzing drinks are delicious, but not great for a low carb lifestyle.

This peach long island iced tea recipe is perfect with appetizers. Try setting out some mozzarella, grilled veggies, and meat slices. It also goes great with grilled chicken.

The trick to my peach long island iced tea is the Mio peach tea water enhancers. They have zero net carbs with no calories and they have lots of flavor. That’s because they don’t have any of the sugar you’d normally add to a long island iced tea. Pineapple juice for example is full of sugar in the regular cocktail recipe. The toughest part of making this keto recipe is stopping. They taste so awesome so it’s hard to stop once I get going. For color and to be a little fancy for guests, I like to add a little fresh mint garnish or lemon wedge.

When I was very young, my parents were very friendly with three other neighborhood families. It was the 1960s and the four couples would get together every week to play cards for pennies. I had no idea what game it was, it seemed so confusing. They rotated where they held their weekly get togethers. One week it would be at our house, the next week at one of the other couples homes and so on. As a grown up, I realize it was a great excuse to enjoy a refreshing cocktail with good company.

Back then, it was pretty common for families in the same neighborhood to become close. In thinking about it, one of the dads and my dad could have been characters on that tv show Mad Men. They loved to throw back a cocktail like a long island iced tea or a martini. I remember one night they were pretty tipsy (okay, trashed lol) and told everyone they were going outside to look at the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, it was summer in Pennsylvania and not really a good time to see them. Also, it’s a pretty rare event to see them in the winter.

When you make this long island iced tea cocktail , I can’t promise that you’ll be turning on the Northern Lights. But I can promise that this is one of the best Keto Long Island Peach Tea drink you’ll ever make. Best of all it’s got all the flavors without all the sugar of the regular alcoholic drink.
