This Frozen Low Carb Blueberry Lemonade Margarita is sweet and tangy, slushy and refreshing. With less than half a carb and just 145 calories there’s no need to sip plain sparkling water and lime unless you want to.
For this recipe you’ll need: white tequila, Meyer lemon, Mio Blueberry Lemonade water enhancer, blender, ice, and margarita glasses. Optional lemon wedge or lime wedge for garnish and even a few fresh blueberries. I’ve even tried lime zest for additional flavor.

How to make a blueberry lemonade margarita low carb
I love a good Margarita !  I’m not talking about the classic margarita kind so much though. Like the ones that are a Margarita glass with ice, syrup and tequila. I really love the fruity ones, the ones that really pile on the carbs and calories. Because of that I am always looking for ways to replicate my favorite drinks in a low carb version. One thing that I have found that makes almost any fruity drink possible are the MIO water enhancer drops. No, they haven’t paid me, I just really like the variety available. In this case I used blueberry lemonade water enhancer along with tequila and Meyer lemon to recreate a blueberry margarita.
So pretty!

A lot of people thing you can’t have cocktails on low carb and that’s just not true. You have to be careful because your body will quite burning fat while it burns off the alcohol but it usually won’t stall you out like a bag of chips will. Pay attention to the scales, though. You may only be able to have one cocktail a week or you may be able to get away with one every night. It’s going to be different for everyone. Please be sure to use a really good tequila. There’s nothing worse than cheap tequila (unless it’s cheap vodka) and it will show in your recipe.
A regular blueberry lemonade margarita or blueberry margarita usually contains high carb ingredients. The first thing to go was adding granulated sugar. One recipe I found added 1/4 cup of granulated sugar for the syrup. Others call for simple syrup which is just sugar and water. Also, fresh blueberries. A half a cup of fresh blueberries has 11 carbs. Some recipes call for blueberry puree or blueberry syrup (lots of sugar !). A few fresh blueberries for garnish is no problem as they are tasty and nutritious.Â
The magic trick to making awesome keto cocktails is Mio Water Enhancer, Blueberry Lemonade flavors. They add amazing flavor without all the sugar and carbs that juice has. Just add a few drops at a time to get the taste the way you want it.
You’ll also want to have some margarita classes to serve your tasty keto cocktail in.
